Laurence Freeman as Director of The World Community for Christian Meditation opens the Meditatio Seminar on meditation with children. He sees the contemplative dimension of experience as the essential characteristic of education and all spirituality.

His talk explores the adult’s responsibility to teach and form children but recognizes that in doing so we learn from them. It is simple, natural and good for us to teach children meditation which provides a powerful way to balance our society by encouraging our children to move from “competition” to “collaboration”. The secular benefits of meditation are well-known but the impact of a religious context enhances those benefits and provides spiritual fruits which transcend the ego and lead to the knowledge of God within us.
