SAFEGUARDING.

WHO WOULD SAFEGUARD ME
FROM THE SHOUTING
ARISING IN THE CITY
THE PERILS OF UNKNOWN
DISTANT CORNERS
WHEN PRECIOUS FEELINGS
START TO FADE
NO ONE CAPTURES
THEM?
THE COMMON RUSH
OF THINGS
NOISE, OBJECTS, PEOPLE
TALKS OF VAIN THINGS, VANITY
THE PERISHING OF
ONE MOMENT INTO THE NEXT
TAKING, STRUGGLE
AND SYLLABLES OF TENDERNESS
ARE JUST A FEW?
IF DISORDERED, MISPLACED
ETERNITY SEEKS
A PLACE TO REST
INSIDE THE INNER CORE OF MAN
A ROOM TO SOLACE
AWAY FROM THE UNFILLED GAP
BETWEEN HEAVEN AND EARTH
LIFE AND RESURRECTION?
WHEN I LIE DOWN
TO TAKE THE WINGS OF THE NIGHT
THE MANY HOURS OF THE DAY
ALREADY CEASED TO BE,
WHO WOULD SAFEGUARD THE HEART
MISTERIOUS SOUND
WHICH IN SILENCE ARTICULATES ITSELF
SPEAKS ALL OF THE EARTH'S MUSIC?
WHO WOULD BE THE KEEPER OF A SOUL
RESERVE IT INTACT FROM GRIEVING
THE MELANCHOLY OF WHAT WE LONG FOR
CONTAINED IN ALL THE HEAVENS
THE PROMISES OF HOMELAND?
AND WHEN FEELING AFRAID, OR LOST
I CRY IN SILENCE,
MY VOICE HUSHED, LIKE A SMALL CHILD?
WHO THEN,
WOULD GRANT ME THE SONG
BEFORE
I GO TO SLEEP??
