glows the light within
Sweet the silence
calming flickering thoughts
as the flame of my being
comes to a stillness
coming home to herself
In the silence
my heart is not proud
nor haughty my eyes
in the stillness
Truly I have set my soul
in communion with my God
in the temple of my being
in silence and peace
Slowly, surely, glows the light within
at rest, like a child, in its mother's arms,
so is my soul
glowing in God's loving gaze
singing God's glory
soaring spirit joy.

Pre-Seminar Silent Retreat - August 7-10, 2006
"Harmony in the Soul"
The Seminar was preceded by a silent retreat led by Laurence Freeman OSB, Director of The World Community for Christian Meditation (WCCM). Fr. Laurence explored the meaning of inner peace and how we must first of all face our inner conflicts and disharmonies before finding that 'Christ himself is our peace'. This inner harmony then spreads outwards into our lives and we see how meditation, the prayer of the heart, can change the world. Integrated Yoga sessions were led by Giovanni Felicioni.
