The Caribbean received Fr. Laurence Freeman for a tour from October 30th to November 8th. About two years ago, the director of the WCCM had visited the region and planted “new seeds”. His visit then inspired a Spirit filled mission which led to the message of Christian Meditation being taken to Schools in Trinidad and to the Islands of St.Lucia, St. Vincent and Barbados as well as to the formation of new meditation groups. This was followed by an Essential Teaching Workshop for the Caribbean, the appointment of a Caribbean Coordinator and a Patron for WCCM-Caribbean in the person of Bishop Jason Gordon, Bishop of Bridgetown (Barbados) and Kingstown (St. Vincent and the Grenadines).
In this latest visit, Fr. Laurence saw the flowering of those “seeds” and left all in the Caribbean with new encouragement, motivation and commitment to share the “gift". The tour had an intense programme: interviews for the media, talks, retreat, meeting to the Bishop Jason Gordon and visits to schools.
You will read a full story on the visit of Fr. Laurence to the Caribbean in the next Meditation newsletter.
